My joy is me joyful! Lol!

I know a lot of people have been wondering why I changed the direction of my blog some few months back. I honestly realized that what I was doing was saturated and I'd rather be sharing my experiences and the word of God to people to help them grow and not gist and as some put it, gossip that at the end of the day added no value to the lives of my readers.

The topic of this post was gotten from a friend's comment on one of my posts on instagram a few days ago. I know it is cheesy, but I like it. Lol!

I was talking to someone a while back and we were discussing my recent weight gain! For those of you that know me personally, you would have noticed this. He mentioned that it could be as a result of genuine peace of mind. I had to seat back and analyse my life now and what had changed. It was then I realised that now, I am genuinely happy, I am at peace with myself, who I am and those I have in my life, Hence my post on instagram a few days ago about my joy being full.

Don't get me wrong, I still am a worry-wart. I know I told you guys that I'm trying to change that, but right now, I am still a work in progress. I have come to accept myself for who I am, my flaws and all.
For a long time I used to obsess over how big my forehead is, my acne-prone skin, how skinny I was, my long neck and so many other things that aren't physical and even other human beings. I realized that when I dropped some of these baggage I was a lot happier. I also noticed that when I was communicating with the Lord, either praying, studying His word or having my quiet time, I felt this calm and peace. The bible even says it in Psalm 16:11 that in the presence of God, there is fullness of joy.

I decided to share this with you guys because I have noticed a lot of people trying to change who they are to fit what society expects and what people see as perfect. People forego their happiness for worry. But is it really worth it?
A lot of us see celebrities and socialites at their best and want to be exactly like them. But then, there is something I like to tell people, that you don't judge anything by its cover but by what dwells within. We see a lot of people these days and we think they have it all put together, but do you know what they're going through in their own "koro" (yes, I used my own word here! lol). Do you know what battles they are fighting? What demons they are dealing with? Why not thank God for where you are, the problems you have, the blessings he has given you and where you know he will take you. Because trust me, most of the things you have now are things you had previously begged Him for. So do not be ungrateful but thank Him in whatever situation you find yourself. I know I say this in almost all of my posts, but thanksgiving is of utmost importance.

I know this is a short post, but it carries a lot of weight! Won't you rather live a happy and grateful life? I want you to genuinely think about it and share my joy.
